We are always looking for loving homes for the dogs who come into The Border Collie Spot and we welcome all enquiries. In the first instance you should e-mail Gill White with your information and what you can offer a dog or call for a chat on 01344 450206, she is free to receive calls between 10am and 4.00pm from Monday to Saturday. Outside of these times, Gill and the team will be caring for the dogs at the rescue centre and meeting potential adopters. Please do not leave messages asking us to call you back to a MOBILE number. If you have experience of the breed, the initial discussion will be about your background and situation. If you do not have experience of the breed but are looking to adopt a Border Collie, we would strongly advise you to research the breed before calling. Once we are happy for the adoption to progress we will arrange for somebody to come and do a homecheck at your property. We will require a look at your garden and a meeting with all people and other animals who live there. If the homecheck is successful we will invite you to come and meet our collies and suggest a good match for you, your family and home. We will give you time to get to know each other, even if this means more than one visit. Once everyone is happy for the adoption to take place, you will be required to read through and sign an Adoption Contract. The contract will be re-read and signed by a witness in your presence. The Border Collie Spot have a minimum suggested donation fee of £ 200 pounds This is not the purchase price of a dog but a donation towards the care of rescue dogs at the centre, including vets bills, the purchase of food and the provision of safe and comfortable surroundings. Most of the dogs we rescue from farms have never seen a vet so we have to start from scratch with innoculations, microchipping and neutering. Once all of this has been completed you will be able to take your Border Collie home. We welcome frequent updates and lots of photos! At all times we will be there to give you support and advice.
